Endometriosis and Adenomyosis:

A first presentation in Primary Care

 Endometriosis and Adenomyosis:
A first presentation in Primary Care

Taking place online on the 2nd of December from 13:00 - 14:00

You are invited to join Dr Steph Manton at this interactive online session delivered on the LMS, to discover more about the presentation of these two common gynaecological conditions in General Practice.  Both of these conditions are thought to affect approximately 10% of women in the UK and can cause debilitating symptoms that can impact quality of life for these women, their ability to work and enjoy leisure activities, and also have implications for future health, including fertility.  This session will cover the following objectives:

  • Be able to define the terms endometriosis and adenomyosis
  • Be aware of how these conditions present in primary care and their impact on our patients
  • Be confident in taking a history and performing and knowing how an examination can be helpful
  • Feel knowledgeable on the primary care management options and when and how to refer on to secondary care
  • Be able to discuss some of the complications of these conditions

All clinicians working in General Practice are welcome to attend.  This session will be recorded.

Dr Steph Manton has been a GP in Worcestershire since 2009.  Having completed her medical degree and GP training in Manchester and the North West, she relocated back to her home county with her GP husband.  She currently works part-time in a busy Worcester City practice and spends the other half of her week working as a GP Mentor and as a GP Multi-Professional Educator for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Training Hub.  She has particular interests in Menopause Care, Paediatrics and Medical Education.  She lives in rural Worcestershire with her husband and two children.  In her spare time, she can be found enjoying the great outdoors.
