Health Literacy: Improving communication to make every contact count in pharmacy

Health Literacy: Improving communication to make every contact count in pharmacy

Taking place on Thursday 13th February from 13:00 - 14:00.

How can we create an environment that is easy to navigate for all patients? An estimated 37% of local adults have low health literacy, who often face technical, complex and unfamiliar information about health. This combination is associated with nonadherence to treatment plans and medical regimes.

In this pharmacy focused health literacy seminar, we'll use local examples to explore how we're communicating with patients across primary care. We will also discuss the universal precautions you can take to help towards making every contact count, focusing on lifestyle management.

Join us Thursday 13th February, 2025, 13:00 - 14:00
The session will be delivered by Emmiline Cambridge (NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire)

"The strongest correlation to ill health - stronger than education level, deprivation, age or ethnicity, is health literacy". National Voices, 2017.
