Advanced Care / Nurse Practitioner

You will be part of the team managing our on the day acute access for our patients, through telephone and face to face consultations working alongside the Duty Doctor of the day, other GP's and the Practice Nurse Team.

Surgeries run through the day essentially split into morning and afternoon sessions.

The practice is obliged to provide a number of enhanced access appointments; you may be included within this rota.

You will be looking after those with acute illness who feel they need to be seen that day. The role provides an opportunity for patients to see an allied health professional without the need to see a GP enabling prompt care and attention.

You will be autonomous in making decisions on assessment, diagnosis and interpretation of results. Interventions may include prescribing, onward referral to secondary care and general lifestyle advice.

You will have support from the Duty Doctor if you need any advice or guidance.

You may be asked to do home visits if required but overall, the role is practice based.
