Pharmacy Technician - Worcester City PCN

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient-facing and patient-supporting roles, including medicines optimisation and reviews.
• Perform medication reconciliations for care home residents and community patients.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve prescribing practices and reduce waste.
• Support initiatives such as antimicrobial stewardship and quality improvement projects.
• Deliver training on the safe handling of medicines and Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
• Provide leadership in medicines management across the PCN.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:

• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
• Proven experience working as a qualified Pharmacy Technician in community pharmacy, hospital, or primary care settings.
• Strong clinical pharmaceutical knowledge and understanding of prescribing/medicines management.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with primary care operations and GP systems (e.g., EMIS Web).
• Awareness of national prescribing policies and quality improvement initiatives.
